Job Description: Report LIVE from the newsroom for 2.5 hour morning show five days a week and report for remainder of shift. Need a reporter/anchor who can carry on a conversation with the viewer, find urgency in stories, and engage the audience. Needs to be a great storyteller, must have engaging live skills, experienced at handling breaking news. Must be able to edit copy, mentor young journalists, and foster innovation. Must present a professional appearance.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Come prepared for show and editorial meetings with developed lead story ideas
  • Engage viewers as reporter/anchor of 2.5 hour morning show
  • Write and edit accurate, concise, compelling copy
  • Review reporter copy for accuracy, conversational writing, and clarity
  • Communicate with assignment desk about story assignments
  • Communicate with reporters and photographers about story development
  • Develop contacts in order to break stories
  • Post to the web, mobile and social media using station guidelines
  • Produce special reports
  • Set up personal story files
  • Keep track of follow-up opportunities
  • Respond to breaking news and live shot opportunities
  • Mentor young reporters
  • Participate in community events as station representative
Qualifications Requirements:
  • Must be a go to person in current newsroom
  • Morning show experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of ENPS a plus
  • Adobe Premier Non linear editing experience a plus
  • Live shot expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
Experience Requirements:
  • Two years reporting and anchoring experience preferred
