POSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful applicant will be involved in the Division’s database administration and software/process development efforts. This will include: database administration of SQL databases and distributed oracle databases, maintenance of current automation processes, development of new processes to automate statistical reporting, data exchanges, and various functions for the courts.
The position will analyze complicated systems requirements; conduct feasibility studies and gather data on user’s needs; evaluates advantages and disadvantages of conversion to an automated system; plans appropriate technical solutions including acquisition and installation of off-the-shelf application programs, managing a services contract for custom development of the application program or developing the program in-house. Analyzes documents; programs work flow, selects program language, standard sub-routines and other programming aids; tests programs, assists in analyzing test results to detect technical programming errors and to isolate factors causing abnormal machine behavior; corrects program errors to altering program steps and sequence. Monitors established programs to refine procedures; prepares and maintains necessary records and reports.
The position works under the direction and supervision of the Applicatins Development Manager who mentors, reviews and prioritizes work. A full job description is available for Human Resources.
A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and two or more years of progressively responsible systems analysis experience. Other combinations of education and experience which could provide such knowledge, skills and abilities will be evaluated on an individual basis.
A mature knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services and SQL/Oracle querying language is preferred.
