CONSUMER BANK CARD CHANNEL ANALYST

This position will report directly to the head of Marketing Strategy & Execution and will own the business performance of the response channels for the Credit Card Acquisitions and Customer Management businesses. Primary responsibilities will be performing response analysis and reporting to build robust business cases, leading implementation, and tracking and reporting on results.

The person in this role will play a leadership role within a highly matrixed organization, and will have to champion improvement opportunities both to management and broadly across the organization, and also to lead business initiatives involving professionals from across the bank. The incumbent in this position will need to work very closely with partners in Marketing, Branch Banking, Operations, IT, and other areas. The incumbent will be responsible for establishing baseline reporting and designing a plan to optimize channel performance and automation of reporting over time. Initially there will be no direct reports, although as the business grows it is possible that this person will build a team of resources to support their area.

In addition to the core responsibilities of this role, the incumbent will be expected to be a thought leader across the consumer card organization, ensuring robust strategy design and clear, logical analytics are employed throughout the team.

Key Responsibilities:
Channel Analysis and Optimization

Structure open ended business problems

Obtain data to prove or disprove relevant hypotheses

Design experiments to prove viability and / or allow optimization of products and product terms

Recommend new products or changes to existing products

Recommend changes to operational or IT capabilities as needed to support strategy

Performance tracking & measurement

Design, enhance, and automate standard reports relevant to channel performance

Produce reports or work with support areas to ensure timely high quality production of reports

Review reports and communicate to management on any deviations from expectations

Use insight gleaned from reporting to inform future channel opportunities, testing, and expansion

Approval & Implementation

Work with management and internal partners to obtain broad buy in and support for key business initiatives

Work with PMO, Operations, IT, or other areas as needed to ensure efficient, timely execution of business initiatives

Successful candidates will have the following knowledge:
Detailed knowledge of test design

Solid understanding of statistical measurement techniques

Good understanding of analytical, modeling, and optimization techniques

CHAID, CART, Linear & Logistic Regression, Linear Programming, etc.

Strong understanding of economics

Strong understanding of profit drivers and interactions in complex lending products such as credit cards

Familiarity regulatory considerations related to consumer lending

Successful candidates will have a solid foundation in the following skills:

Strong conceptual reasoning ability

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to convey complex or highly technical concepts to a wide range of audiences

Proficiency with analytical, modeling, and data management tools

eg SAS, SQL, DB2, etc

Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel & PowerPoint

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field

5 years work experience in the industry, working with specific analytics tools relative to the work area, including MS Office and industry-specific software/systems

Complex, in-depth understanding of the business unit's (Consumer Bankcard) functioning

Demonstrated ability to synthesize and draw conclusions from variant information sources

Demonstrated excellence in analysis, leadership, change management, project management, negotiation, persuasion, directing others, and communication

Preferred Requirements:
5 - 10

years experience in analytic role within credit cards or similar consumer finance division

Experience measuring and optimizing response through a variety of channels (DM, Outbound/Inbound telemarketing, Retail Branch traffic, Digital)

Experience in a data driven test and learn business environment

Prior management experience

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, or other analytical field required OR Advanced Degree
