Sports Marketing - Position has full responsibility for planning business and execution of all aspects of our company's Golf Apparel globally. The Head of Golf will define the product vision and lead the efforts of the division in defining strategies, actions plans and measurements for each region’s initiative with a focus on formulation and implementation of marketing and product plans consistent with the brand objectives.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Develop a comprehensive global business plan for our company's Golf Apparel including design direction, merchandising, marketing concept, product plans, communication strategy, forecast, budget and execution plan.
Develop and implement a strategic and financial planning calendar.
Structure and prepare budgets to support department, line and corporate goals at minimum expenditure.
Support revenue and profit objectives, establish pricing strategies and maintain acceptable gross margins.
Establish and communicate category goals globally.
Oversee the global range plan, sales forecast, marketing goals/strategy, product process and department organization.
Manage the development of, and oversee the integrity of, all product lines, quality, taste level and brand image.
Monitor competitive trends in the industry; identify and target emerging new market segments; initiate and implement marketing strategies which capitalize on opportunities.
Stay current on latest trends in color theory, silhouette trends, fabric and technological advancements within the industry.
Spearhead and monitor the product creation process globally.
Develop and execute a communication strategy incorporating catalog, POS, POP, advertising, PR, etc., which supports our company's brand objectives and is consistent with strategic category goals and budget objectives.
Daily interface with our company's Liaison offices and global business units, communicating and solving production and delivery issues. Capacity planning.
Oversee and resolve all pricing issues. Inventory management. Monitor shipping and make changes where necessary in order to meet product launch dates.
Work with global organizations to develop competitive sales programs, establish customer service goals and identify inside sales support needs.
Education of sales team and global product managers with regards to apparel presentations, merchandising and technical aspects of the product.
Provide sales tools. Communicate corporate and brand objectives. Perform key account, sales meeting, trade show and event presentations.
Participate in various industry events and other related functions to ensure that the company’s interest and objectives are properly represented.
Ensure smooth flow of information, working to set and maintain appropriate design and development timelines.
Responsible for managing, building and motivating a team.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
Must have an established record of success at a senior management level.
Excellent working knowledge of the golf industry
A strong background in the apparel manufacturing industry and working knowledge of all aspects of the business is essential.
Experience in an entrepreneurial environment.
Ability to analyze product line goals and objectives and apply problem solving techniques to technical and management issues.
Skilled in all aspects of product merchandising with a strong expertise in direct response.
Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment.
Strong computer skills a must
