The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute and close projects according to schedule and within budget. The Project Manager will provide mid-size to enterprise public and private sector clientele with technology and business best practice project management. Candidates will display proven project ownership and experience throughout the entire project lifecycle. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating activities of project resources to deliver projects according to plan.

Specifically:The Project Manager:
Proactively manage day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple or large scale projects from beginning to end, including client interaction and expectations

Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues and devise contingency plans

Serve as Project Manager via management of end-to-end system development life cycle of both major and minor projects while supervising intermediate to senior level staff

Provide project leadership and direction to project resources in accordance with Sparkhound policies and procedures

Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents

Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support client contracts

Effectively communicate project expectations to project resources and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion

Plan, schedule and track project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools

Provide leadership in responding to problem-solving and dispute resolution of project issues

Acts as an effective liaison between client project stakeholders and Sparkhound, able to align Sparkhound’s various resources and capabilities to client project needs

Define project requirements, including leading and eliciting requirements gathering

Develop costing proposals for new and existing projects, perform risk analysis, and manage change control

Provide or contribute to business analysis, and user needs analysis for projects

Build, develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years direct work experience providing senior level technology and/or business project management with emphasis on software development

Minimum 3+ years of direct project management experience which included leading teams of both technical and business resources

Certification in Project Management preferred (PMP)

Strong written and oral communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Experience leading large, complex custom software development projects utilizing the Microsoft stack, including SharePoint

Strong ability to work independently or in a team-oriented, collaborative environment while applying senior level experience to business and technology project decision-making

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial

Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Demonstrated experience with each phase of the Project Management Life Cycle

Demonstrated experience with each phase of the Software Development Life Cycle including analysis, design, development, testing and implementation

Competent and proficient with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office products

Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies

Ability to bring projects to successful completion through political sensitivity

Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients and other practices
