Basic Function: Provides age-appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic outpatient mental health services to children and/or their families. Develop initial comprehensive assessment data including clients’ presenting problems, mental status, relevant psychiatric, medical and developmental histories to make decisions regarding diagnosis (per DSM-IV-TR), treatment objectives and ongoing treatment plans and/or to provide information and make appropriate referrals to other treatment resources in the community.
Requirements for this position include:
Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or closely related human service field, from an accredited university, is required.
Completion of clinical practicum required.
Previous experience working with children/adolescents in a mental health setting desirable.
Must have keyboarding and computer skills as required by position.
Must be able to complete paperwork per agency policies and requirements of funding source.
Must be able to meet productivity requirement of at least 25 direct service hours per week .
Must have valid IL driver's license, clean driving record and proof of automobile insurance..
Participation in after-hours on-call rotation for crisis intervention is required (evenings & weekends).
Must have or obtain CPR, First Aid and CPI certification.
Must be able to pass fingerprinting and drug testing.
