Under the direct supervision of the Senior Vice President/Operations and Strategic Development and within established policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following functions:

Essential Functions:
Oversees construction activities on new or renovation projects. Collaborates with architects and consultants and acts as a liaison between contractor and hospital to ensure compliance to agreed upon building plans, specifications, costs and time tables. Serve as the liaison between the hospital, architect and his consultants. Represent the hospital through the construction document process; as the detailed scope of the project is fully defined. Reviews change order requests and applications for payment to prepare them for approval. Assist in obtaining department “sign offs” on the progressive stages of the project definition through the construction document phase. Serve as the initial contact for hospital personnel seeking to make alterations of the project scope after “sign offs” or during construction process. Assist the architect and consultants in obtaining timely responses to their inquiries from hospital personnel. Participates in the coordination of activities, which may affect the hospitals’ operation; ie: mobilization, contractor staging area, temporary facilities, deliveries, temporary utility shutdowns etc. Monitors quality of work and observes equipment testing and reports observed deficiencies to architect and owner. Approves punch list items and compilation of project closeout documents. Maintains daily logs, reports, statistics and files. Prepares project reports and maintains historical data: shop drawings, revisions, built drawings and equipment warranties. In conjuction with the hospital safety officer promotes the maintenance of a safe and accident-free work environment. Formulates general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. Contributes to the preparation and monitoring of the project budget to the extent requested by administration. Attends pre-construction meetings and weekly job progress meetings. Ensures confidentiality of employee, legal, client/patient, budget and all company matters.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma required.

Experience: A minimum of 7 years of construction management is required.
