Position Summary: Under the direction of the Dentist, responsible for the following: Performing oral prophylaxis including periodontal scaling/root planning and maintenance, administering local anesthesia for pain control, counseling and educating patients, applying caries-preventive agents such as topical fluorides and dental sealants, and exposing, processing and interpreting dental radiographs. The Dental Hygienist – Adult Focus will serve primarily adult patients but must be familiar with pediatric dentistry and able to provide care to pediatric patients, as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene program
Licensure: Licensure by the State of RI (Active Dental Hygiene License and Permit to Administer Local Anesthesia)
Access to reliable transportation in order to service off site locations
Experience: Two plus years working with adults, children, and patients with special health care needs in a variety of general dentistry and dental specialty settings.
