At Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, our 977-bed Level I Trauma Center is a place where skilled, passionate rehab professionals are dedicated to elevating their professional practices in order to offer our patients the best care possible. The inpatient rehabilitation unit is a 28 bed-CARF accredited unit. We provide a full range of Occupational Therapy services on both an inpatient and outpatient basis, including physical and speech-language therapies as well as neuropsychology services. Summary of Essential Job Duties:
The Therapist II evaluates and treats patients in accordance with the prescription of the physician. Assists in divisional growth and cohesiveness to ensure a high quality of patient care. The Therapist provides patient care consistent with Scope of Practice Standards and Code of Ethics; the Plan for the Provision of Care to Patient, the Plan for Corporate Compliance, the Performance Improvement Plan and Patient Education Plan. Competency skills include the ability to provide care to a wide range and complexity of diagnoses while maintaining a safe environment, utilizing appropriate communication with sensitivity and attention to special populations, including patient with diverse cultural backgrounds, age, developmental issues and physical disabilities.
The Therapist-Per Diem is considered employed on an at-will basis with no guarantee of scheduled hours. Scheduling is done based on staffing need and availability. The Therapist-Per Diem staff member is expected to be available a minimum of 16 hours per month.
Note: New Hires must successfully pass a background check, a prohibited substance screening and a pre-employment physical.
Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Valid and current license as a OT in the state of California.
Outpatient Rehab experience preferred, experience in treatment of patients with neurological disorders a must.
Able to push, pull, lift up to 100 lbs on an intermittent basis; able to bend, stoop, sit, stand and walk without restrictions
