Minimum Skills/Requirements

Bachelors degree in finance or mathematical discipline. Associate or Fellow of Society of Actuaries (ASA/FSA) designation required. 6-8 years of progressively responsible actuarial experience including a minimum of 3 years in staff management experience. In depth knowledge of health insurance products, concepts, benefits and underwriting. Experience with Medicare lines of business.

Primary Job Functions

  • Day to day management of actuarial function.
  • Responsible for pricing, reserving, and forecasting functions
  • Responsible for certification of rate filings for new and existing products, including ACRP filings for Medicare risk contracts.
  • Determine rating impact of regulatory changes and benefit plan changes.
  • Provide guidance to senior management regarding actuarial issues
