Primary responsibilities are to structure credit to market (asset quality and competitiveness balanced), developing financial models and projections for term debt and transactions, negotiating credit (with Client Manager and/or Credit Products Officer III or IV involved as needed), underwriting credit, gaining credit approval, etc. The Credit Products Officer I and II will be primarily respnsible for assisting with portfolio review and credit activities associated with municipal relationships for the Municipal Finance Group. These relationships involve complex, and highly valued credits.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Structure credit to market (asset quality and competitiveness balanced)
B. Conduct financial modeling (projections for term debt and transactions)
C. Underwrite credit (new / renewals / modifications)
D. Gain credit approval (with Client Manager or Relationship Manager as sponsor) and Credit Products Officer III or IV
E. Complete due diligence
Negotiate credit (with Client Manager or Relationship Manager and Credit Products Officer III or IV involved as needed)
Reviewing closing documents and ensuring proper booking of transactions
Monitor financial statements, covenant compliance, exception management overdrafts and ACH approvals
Contribute to client planning sessions
Work with Client Managers or Relationship Managers and Credit Products Officer III or IV to structure idea pitches
With Client Manager or Relationship Manager and Credit Products Officer III or IV, perform relationship reviews to determine appropriateness and competitiveness of credit package
Identify cross-sell opportunities
Call on key clients and prospects as necessary with Client Manager or Relationship Manager and Credit Products Officer III or IV and in concert with the Client Strategy
Travel as necessary
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration with emphasis in management, accounting, finance, or a related field, with knowledge of municipal finance helpful.
Credit Product Officer I:
Individuals typically have 2-3 years of experience in account relationship management.
Credit Product Officer II:
Individuals typically have 3-5 years of experience in account relationship management.
All candidates will have exposure and knowledge of senior debt markets and broader capital markets including credit underwriting, structuring, negotiating, complex credits, and cross-selling opportunities. Formal credit or commercial loan training is a plus. Candidates must possess superior verbal, written, and organizational skills. Individuals must be able to prioritize tasks demonstrating both management skills and ability to achieve communicated deadlines. High integrity and respect for confidentiality are invaluable. Excellent computer skills in Windows, understanding of business and personal financial statements, good phone and presentation skills required.
