The Director of Marketing and Engagement is a data-driven seasoned professional who oversees the marketing strategies, projects, execution, branding, interactive activities and integrations for United Way of the Bluegrass (UWBG). Primary responsibilities include planning and execution of strategic marketing and communications activities of UWBG in support of external community relations and the development and engagement of partners, donors and volunteers based on strategic analysis of information. Areas of focus include strategic message development, public relations and community affairs, advertising, special events, customer communications and engagement and online marketing and e-communications. Champion the UWBG brand by serving as brand manager for all UWBG products and services. Develop and manage the messaging, image, and positioning of UWBG brand to key stakeholders
Use data and analytics to build brand awareness and loyalty Perform in-depth analysis and reporting of multi-channel marketing and promotional campaigns and programs to optimize their performance. Oversee the marketing model development function, supervising the development of key segmentation models and other models used for targeted marketing and media mix optimization. Develop a strategic direction and manage integrated marketing strategy supporting an extensive branding and awareness campaign. Manage the product marketing process for all products and develop an integrated communication plan for each UWBG product. Delivering high-quality, innovative, multichannel marketing solutions that represent the essence of the UWBG brand to raise awareness of the UWBG brand and increase brand loyalty. Oversee all aspects of communications including public relations, social media, sponsors, fundraisers and events, marketing campaigns and collateral materials. Conduct market research to meet changing market conditions to develop best-in-class marketing programs. Develop and manage metrics and success criteria for marketing effort.
Develop marketing collateral to education and motivate constituents Design and implement marketing programs and pieces that support business objectives. This includes concepts, production, and interactive projects to ensure finished products meet project objectives and are delivered on time and within budget. Work collaboratively with the VP of Marketing and Development to develop, plan, and direct all fundraising communications including collateral development, tracking and communicating donor success, recognition, and acknowledgment.
Plan and execute United Way events and involvement in community events Strategically plan and coordinate special events (such as fundraising events and other public events). Develop calendar of community events and ensure United Way is well represented at events as required. Serve as organization’s lead public relations representative in the community as needed.
Supervise key marketing staff and external relationships Supervise Online Engagement and Graphics Coordinator; coordinate graduate student workers and interns. Recruit and supervise contractors/vendors for marketing and communications-related projects. Manage any agency relationships, including PR programs and campaigns, and ensure they adhere to the UWBG communications guidelines, reviewing and approving all contracts and press materials.
Perform administrative and other duties as needed Working with the VP of Marketing and Development, assist in developing and managing the company’s marketing budget. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or related field; MBA a plus.
Experience Requirements: At least 7 years marketing and public relations work experience including extensive work with data and analytics with a minimum of 3 years management/supervisory responsibilities demonstrating teambuilding leadership.
