Position: Assistant Professor of Counselor Education Tenure Track, beginning Fall 2013

Responsibilities: Teach Counselor Education courses in CACREP core areas and area of specialization; supervise practicum/internship students; participate in research and grant writing; engage in professional service; be involved in ACES, ACA, and other relevant professional organizations; serve on university committees; participate in community service; serve as CACREP liaison; additional summer teaching assignment is possible.

Qualifications: Doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program (by end of May 2013); NCC or eligible; Louisiana LPC eligible or in process; clear indication of experience and interest in participation in ACES and ACA. Preferred, area of specialization is open; evidence of teaching effectiveness and clinical supervision; scholarly publications or evidence of a sustainable research agenda.

Administrative Unit: The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is a selective-admissions, state-supported university of approximately 16,300 undergraduate and graduate students, located in the heart of Louisiana's Acadian-Creole region, between Houston and New Orleans. It offers the doctorate in 9 areas and Masters' degrees in 26 disciplines. The Department of Counselor Education offers the MS in Counselor Education.

Salary: Salary competitive and commensurate with experience.
