Cargill Grain & Oilseed Supply Chain consists of 11 businesses that operate on an integrated global basis. We source, trade, process and distribute grain and oilseeds. The main bulk products handled are wheat, corn, oilseeds, barley and sorghum, as well as vegetable oils, meals and ethanol. This group of businesses works closely Cargill's ocean freight and logistics business.

Cargill Grain & Oilseed Supply Chain employs more than 20,000 people in 46 countries. Cargill Grain & Oilseed Supply Chain operates 245 interior silos, 28 import/export elevators, 62 crush plants and palm oil plantations in Indonesia. It also encompasses three vegetable oil refineries and numerous joint ventures.

Position Overview

The Reliability Project Engineer will focus on reliability to increase the overall asset health of the facility. Utilize correct application of reliability strategies such as Reliability Centered Maintenance(RCM), Cause Analysis, 5S, 5 Why, Kaizen, proactive work activities, on-condition and predictive technologies, planning and Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA).

The role will also focus on developing and implementing facility base capital projects. This includes construction and cost management, process engineering(ie P&ID development, procedures, etc…), commissioning and start up support, and budget control.

Principal Accountabilities

45% Responsible for developing and implementing base capital projects

Developing the scope of a project from idea through implementation

Be able to submit capital project via commitment admin website with all - appropriate corresponding documentation (ie payback, layout drawings, ehs impact, etc…)

Budget management

Lead projects with safety as #1 priority. Be able to hold contractor accountable to Cargill safety standards as well as high work quality.

45% Asset Reliability

Deploy RCM principles and actions.

Manage asset reliability/defect elimination projects.

Use the RCM methodology and FMEA to determine the optimum defect elimination strategies.

Determine asset function, capability, functional failure modes, probability of failure, clarify impact/severity and identify acceptable risk.

Review failures, downtime and lost production to identify opportunities to improve reliability.

Lead the cause analysis process within the Maintenance organization.

Track and report cause analysis actions.

Organize and lead periodic meeting to review EDT and OpRER/OEE with the operations staff to increase availability, productivity, and reliability.

Assist the Maintenance and Reliability Leader with the Red-to-Green Strategy.

Participate in Capital Projects as a reliability resource providing input on:

  • Purchasing the correct and most reliable assets
  • Layout and design or process and assets supports reliability
  • Construction and installing methods support reliability
  • Commission and checkout processes support reliability
  • Review need for capitalized spares
10% Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

BS or 4 years food/feed processing experience

Ability to work on call nights and weekends as needed

Ability to work around grain and grain handling equipment

Good computer skills (MS word, Excel, etc…)

Strong mechanical/electrical knowledge and aptitude

Ability to coach others for high performance and high engagement;motivates, inspires, and engages others to excel and work towards the vision

Preferred

Project management experience

Budget preparation, procurement, scheduling experience

Experience and training with Project Management Systems (and PDRI's)

Previous experience with Soybean Processing including an understanding of all requirements that must be met to maintain food safety, environmental and personal safety compliance (i.e. OSHA, PSM, USDA, FDA)

Ability to influence others outside of formal reporting relationships
