Supervises the Permits Section in developing, reviewing, assigning, administering and maintaining all permitted projects in District 6. Supervises in the review and administration of all advertising devices and recycling program. Develops, reviews, plans, schedules and maintains all permitted work and activities including issuing and oversight of 800-1200 permits per year. Sends correspondence by email and letters to developers, consultants, local governmental agencies and utility owners regarding Department policies and use of R/W or access. Organizes, conducts meetings and reviews plans, estimates, and agreements for the permitted projects. Manage a large volume of phone calls from the public regarding permit and other Department issues. Reviews and administers advertising devices and recycling program. Makes field visits and issues legal notices as appropriate. Consult for legal deposition regarding advertising devices, recycling and permits. Assists the Traffic section supervisor with Traffic related issues in the permitting process, such as traffic signals, striping, traffic impact studies, signage, etc on permitted projects as needed. Other duties as assigned. |

ENGINEERING AND GEOLOGICAL
Characteristics of the Class :
With the written approval of the State Highway Engineer, positions in this class are authorized and assigned to plan, assign, supervise and review the work of employees in the administration of transportation engineering programs. Oversees the activities of professional and technical personnel in the planning, design, construction and maintenance of highways, structures or facilities. Reviews and approves engineering documents as a Licensed Professional Engineer; and performs other duties as required.
Typical Working Conditions and Unique Physical Requirements :
Work is performed in the office and in the field. Will be exposed to risks inherent to construction sites.
Additional Requirements :
