The Ecommerce Merchandise Assistant is an entry level position that will provide support to the merchandising team in order processing, related correspondence, and monitoring department/division needs to achieve sales and gross margin goals. This position is an integral part of the department and will coordinate across internal departments. Some administrative duties may be necessary including meeting coordination, filing, etc. The assistant is also responsible for helping the Merchandiser translate the merchandise assortment strategy through site maintenance of sequencing product, selecting faced out colors, and building online links and shops to help increase site conversion.
Data entry and updating of purchase orders, detail sheets, and on order as needed.
Sample management: including the organizing, management, discarding/archiving of samples on a seasonal basis.
Site maintenance and merchandising including product sequencing, link and shop creation to help drive increased conversion
Assist the Merchandiser with executing promotional merchandising initiatives and markdowns and making recommendations based on style level performance.
Responsible for sample and document set up of all meetings
Maintain effective internal relationships using professional communication and efficient processes
Accurately input and process within internal systems and perform regular data reviews and system updates
Develop and maintain effective relationships with broader cross-functional team including planning, ecommerce operations, creative and studio teams to achieve seamless product-to-market process
Act, without exception, within compliance of company standards, processes, and ethics policies
Perform miscellaneous administrative duties within the department such as assistance with presentations
education and business experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising or Business preferred
Experience in a top retail environment required with understanding of merchandise buying preferred; could be full-time or through internships
Fast-paced administrative experience preferred with ability to work independently
Able to establish effective relationships with professional colleagues and management personnel
Able to work independently and thrive in a multi-tasked, fast-paced environments
Exceptional organizational, presentation and communication skills
Ability to work across departments in order to constantly keep product cycle current and organized
Excellent analytical and creative skills and strong initiative to learn about the industry and company
Microsoft Office proficiency is required including PowerPoint and Excel
Knowledge of retail systems is preferred but not required
Ability to learn proprietary and industry systems quickly
