Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:
The Facilities/EHS Manager provides direct supervision to Facilities and EHS personnel, and provides oversight of all plant facilities, utilities, calibration and maintenance activities. Facilities/EHS Manager develops, implements and maintains programs to ensure compliance to regulations governing Environmental, Health and Safety.

Essential Job Functions:
Development an execution of long term strategic plans for facility, utility, space utilization and Environmental, Health and Safety.
Development of Facilities/EHS Department budget and capital project plans. Prepares monthly spending variance forecast. Ensures adherence to budget and variance projections.
Prepares reports on Environmental, Safety and Health areas and submits those required by regulatory agencies.
Evaluates and analyzes environmental impact of new or modified processes to assure the appropriate personnel protection equipment is used and compliance to exposure levels.
Leading member of the Plant Safety and Environmental Team to ensure compliance with federal, local and Corporate Safety, Health and Environmental laws, regulations and policies.
Supervises and ensures compliance with the Preventive Maintenance Program and Calibration Program
Supervises and ensures compliance with policies and procedures related to Plant Landscaping, Janitorial/Housekeeping Activities, Cafeteria, Physical Security, Pest Control and other facility maintenance and EHS contract services as required.
Supervises the Machine Shop and assigns priorities as needed to support the operation
Keeps and analyzes all accident reports. Investigates accidents/incidents.
Plans and directs internal safety inspections. Administers Plant Safety Strategy and Emergency Response Manual.
Assures completion and maintenance of the OSHA injury illness records (i.e., the OSHA form 300, the supplementary records, OSHA 301 or its equivalent)
Maintains the OSHA poster OSHA form 300 Annual Summary and all other required notices posted in the appropriate location and for the appropriate length of time.
Manages plant hazardous materials, hazardous waste and non-hazardous waste programs and ensure reporting compliance.
Administers all plant utilities (Purified Water, Compressed Air, HVAC, etc)
Administer Building Management System (BMS)
Coordinate joint facility and EHS projects with other managers or engineers as required
Ensures facility and EHS personnel are properly trained on core requirements and EHS requirements to perform all required tasks and support operations.
Complies with the cGMP’s, Quality Standards, and established policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have the ability to direct and coordinate activities of a working group
  • Must have the ability to handle new and different problems where past experience cannot necessarily be drawn upon
  • Must be thoroughly knowledgeable in Federal and Local regulations and International standards related to the Environmental, Health and Safety fields including EPA, OSHA, CGMP’s, ISO, Corporate and EQP Regulations.
  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) and must have good written and oral communication skills
Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:
  • PR Engineering Registration. (Professional Engineering or E.I.T)
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Eight plus (8+) years experience in Facilities Engineering/Management, and Environmental, Health and Safety field.
