Assess students referred for special education services. Writes a report of findings. Participates in IEP team process and writes IEP for students who are eligible for service. Plans and executes lessons that address the individual student's needs as outlined in the IEP. Documents student's progress toward IEP goals and all special education paperwork required by the school. Interfaces with parents, principal, and IEP team members at designated school and with the Director of Education at Care. Organizes classroom and manages student behavior to optimize learning. Maintains certification as required by the State of Arizona.
Requirements
Part-time special education teacher (15-20 hours per week) in charter school setting, northwest of Phoenix, AZ. BA/BS degree in Special Education and Cross-Categorical or SLD teacher certification from the Arizona State Department of Education and current Arizona fingerprint clearance card.
