This position is responsible for shaping business needs into technology solutions which deliver business value by leading and contributing to the analysis, design, development, testing, documentation and maintenance of our software applications. Provides insight and recommendations for emerging software technologies and provides direction in the use of new technologies towards future development strategies. This position requires a strong sense of urgency as well as the ability to work effectively as an individual and within technical teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the development, implementation and support of software applications across the organization
Assist in defining and executing our technology and product roadmaps using strategic and visionary thinking
Interact collaboratively with business partners and team members and accountable to ensure the successful delivery of technical solutions to address business objectives
Provide technical leadership and ensure alignment with existing and new technology enivoronment capabilities with a focus on optimizing performance and scalability
Ensure consistency and the appropriate level of reusability in the conceptionalization and technical design of software application solutions
Effectively analyze and troubleshoot issues at the application or system level and recommends and implement solutions to resolve complex problems
Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and quality of work
Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging
Actively lead the research of emerging technologies and trends benefiting the advancement of innovative software solutions
Liaise with vendors for efficient implementation of new software products or systems and for resolution of any adaptation issues
Mentor new and existing team members on solutions design and development best practices and provides feedback regarding individual performance

Required Skills
Required Experience
Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field
7+ years of professional experience in application development, design and development methodologies
Proficiency in a variety of programming languages, including C#, VB.NET, JavaScript and jQuery
Excellent understanding of coding methodologies and best practices
Excellent understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and relational database practices
Strong experience with web services technologies and experience with service-oriented architectures
Prior experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues
Prior experience with geographic spatial analaysis and optimization related software development desired
Prior experience with Mapping APIs, Geocoding APIs, and Location Based APIs desired
Prior experience with complex algorithm development, maintenance and support desired
