This is an interdisciplinary position (or inter-occupational position) and may be filled as any of the following:
GS-0401-11, Biological Scientist (Environmental)
GS-0819-11, Environmental Engineer
GS-1301-11, Physical Scientist (Environmental)
Provide extensive environmental expertise to support assigned environmental projects through application of professional knowledge and skill in Environmental Compliance practices, processes and techniques.
Responsible for executing assigned projects, in-house and by contract, to comply with all applicable Federal, state, and local environmental laws and policies.
Coordinate curricula and training for assigned program areas at the installation.
Provide advisory services on questions, issues, and projects in assigned program areas.
Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures, and perform work that enhances the safety of the work environment.

(TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions:
Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-09 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral.
The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of professional environmental principles, practices, techniques, and procedures to effectively perform project development, execution, training, and advisory services in assigned projects.
Knowledge to troubleshoot environmental problems requiring investigation of unsanitary or questionable conditions in assigned projects.
Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, integration principles and practices, and other guidance to make decisions and recommendations concerning restoration, compliance, conservation, pollution prevention projects.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
