Business Trade associations represent the majority of SmithBucklin’s client organizations. Our Business Trade association professionals provide full-service management to a mix of trade associations and professional societies operating within the business sectors of manufacturing, wholesale trade, retail trade, distribution, agriculture, education, financial, business to business and consumer services with both local and international chapters. Our Business Trade staff teams help associations create value for the members by delivering strategy and thought leadership, member value creation, networking opportunities, commerce solutions, education and certification, advocacy and promotion, and setting industry standards.

Association Associates play an integral role in providing excellent customer service to the non-profit volunteers and members from our client trade associations and professional societies. This role requires strong computer and prioritization skills and has heavy administrative tasks. Successful candidate will be client-service oriented and excel at teamwork.

Role/Responsibilities:
Maintain first-rate customer service as the front-line contact to SmithBucklin's Association clients and the Association members. Enhance support and service by responding to customer needs in a timely and efficient manner.

Build and sustain strong member relations through attentive detail in handling member requests and volunteer interaction.

Provide administrative and project support to the client and staff team, including database maintenance, batch processing and reporting.

Serve as membership staff person: managing the organization's data and generating reports as needed.

Coordinate and maintain financial projects, membership dues, publications orders, registration and AP/AR

Write and produce content for association member e-newsletters and other electronic communications.

Maintain and update areas of the association website with current information, benefits, member programs. etc.

Assist with the preparation of conferences, board meetings & seminars.

Collaborate with various SmithBucklin service units including marketing, accounting, IT, and convention to provide the best client service possible.

Serve as staff liaison to committees.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from a four year accredited college/university

1-2 years relevant professional experience

Practical agency or non-profit experience a plus

PC experience with Windows operating system and a variety of software programs

Demonstrated customer service experience/focus

Database management experience (iMIS preferred)

Web editing experience a plus (dreamweaver or HTML experience preferred)

Previous experience managing website content

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in time management and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
