This position works on two areas of business: our magazines’ newsstand sales and a marketing program called Magazine Select. Reporting to a Consumer Marketing Director and working closely with a Marketing Manager, this position will assist in reporting of newsstand sales results, coordination of print quantities and materials needed for newsstand promotions, and monitoring of competitive and industry newsstand sales data. The position will be involved in bi-weekly liaison meetings with our national distributor (Time Warner Retail), and ad hoc meetings with retailers and wholesalers.
The Magazine Select program is a subscription marketing program that works with other publishing companies. This position will act as a liaison between our publishing partners and our marketing colleagues and fulfillment vendor, regarding the prices and offer details for the magazines sold in the program. The position will also assist in maintaining invoice logs, reporting on the profitability of the Magazine Select program, and will run and distribute reports on the sales generated by the program.
Responsibilities include: updating and distributing monthly reports of newsstand sales, coordination of print quantities, and marketing materials for newsstand promotions as needed with our national distributor, attending bi-weekly meetings with TWR and ad hoc meetings with retailers, communication with our colleagues in the editorial, finance, and production departments, and assisting the Consumer Marketing Director in all aspects of the newsstand business. For Magazine Select, the position is responsible for accurate and timely maintenance of a database of all authorized prices for the publications in the program, trouble-shooting with our fulfillment vendor and our publishing partners, updating and distributing reports on sales, maintaining spreadsheets that monitor the profitability of the program, and assisting both the Consumer Marketing Director and the Marketing Manager in other aspects of the program.

The ideal candidate should have a least 1 year of experience in either the magazine newsstand business or the magazine subscription agency business. The candidate should possess good communication skills, have experience using Excel for data analysis and expense tracking/management, and be eager to learn the magazine consumer marketing business.
