SUMMARY

Candidates must have an IP background and experience. This position will serve as the IP Subject Matter Expert for the Global Training Department. The trainer will conduct technical training for GENBAND customers and internals globally. Will need to learn on GENBAND portfolio of classes. Conducts basic, intermediate and advanced technical training courses on IP products and Protocols. Identifies and recommends courseware improvements. Assist in the customization of GENBAND courseware. Works closely with customer to better understand issues and provide optimal solutions. Provides feedback from customer requirements to Course Developers for design changes in education products. Must learn and be able to deliver training remotely through distance-learning tools. The Technical Trainer will develop and deliver training course materials to support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the GENBAND S3 Session Border Control / Real-Time Management System and will be responsible for a high customer satisfaction score for the courses delivered.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Instructor responsibilities
Maintain product knowledge for courses qualified in. Must remain current.
Maintain customer satisfaction within + or - %5 of target
Manage customer expectation in the classroom and follow up on all customer queries relegated to the product delivery or KS offerings.
Set up and clean the classrooms before and after each session
Arrange for travel and submit expenses within the timeframe scheduled in Wallchart.
Works directly with customer technical contact to evaluate and complete all customer location testing for remote access.
Complete any feedback and customer questionnaire paperwork on time and deliver to Master Scheduler and Delivery Leader after each event.
Cross train into other courses as needed based on demand.
Order courseware from Mimeo and ship to customer location.
Courseware Development responsibilities
Review design documents after RKO and provide input to PMP for courseware impacts by Business ready.
Review Functional Descriptions and update courseware and labs prior to GA+6 weeks.
Address customer feedback and churn into courseware in a timely manor
Update Share Point and Mimeo when courseware update is complete, notify PM of any changes to syllabus.
Provide direct support for the design and implementation of the self-paced program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Expert working knowledge of IP to include Routing protocols, rules, sub netting, VPN.
Knowledge of voice and data technology including the following: H2.48, GR303, VoIP, SIP, H.323, Megaco, MGCP, and IP Routing
Possess a high level of telecom voice support knowledge, telecom provisioning and implementation; IPsec-based and MPLS networks; VPN; redundant and fault-tolerant routing protocols
Ability to manage multiple projects in different stages simultaneously, and demonstrate strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
Must be able to travel up to 50-65% of the time
PC Administration experience
Server Administration experience
LINUX experience
Basic installation experience
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Bilingual in Spanish a plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Requires a BS degree in related field, or equivalent experience
3-5 years’ experience in technical instruction
2-4 years’ experience in IP networks
