Serves as the senior specialist within the assigned department and oversees all/majority of one of the program areas. Utilizes a considerable amount of discretion and independent judgment and latitude for action. Has full accountability for a highly technical/significant program. Performs complex, highly responsible and confidential duties in program area assigned requiring broad experience and comprehensive knowledge of the organization policies and procedures. Serves as lead resource/contact person for the department and/or program area. Implements and directs processes and procedures to facilitate program including directing others who may/may not report directly. Researches issues and recommends solutions within approved policies and procedures through appropriate channels. Assists in the understanding of policies, procedures and guidelines. May provide supervision or guidance to a variety of staff involved in projects and tasks as assigned. Understands and satisfies customer needs. Capitalizes on opportunities to improve customer service and satisfaction. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent college hours plus five years of experience.*
Associate’s degree or higher or equivalent college hours plus seven years of experience. *
High School graduate or equivalent plus nine years of experience.* One year supervisory experience required. experience = working in a program function in the area assigned. Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, review and generate reports. Requires ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. The ability to provide quality customer service. Official transcripts will be required. *Will be subject to a criminal background check *
Position Specific Qualifications
Formal instructional design knowledge with two years of professional related experience in higher education or similar environment.
Experience in developing and redesigning face-to-face, fully online, and hybrid/blended courses.
Demonstrated knowledge in faculty development and instructional delivery methodologies and systems.
Demonstrated ability to design instructional materials and interactive tools.
Some project management expertise and/or experience.
Expertise with one or more content authoring tools, and one or more multimedia production tools, and one or more digital imaging software, and one more learning management systems.
Experience with evaluation and implementation of social networking, online collaborative tools, and mobile solutions for education environments.
Experience with web and interactive/simulation development.
Teaching or training experience in face-to-face and online environments.
Knowledge of both PC and Mac operating systems.
Works with light material requiring little physical effort.
