Everyday, our Business Interface Representatives serve as a single point of contact between assigned users and Information Technology (IT) representatives. You will serve as the primary interface representative in the Learning service Branch (LSB) under Human Capital and Training (HCT). You will be primarily responsible for:
Facilitating planning, initiating and evaluating new projects from concept through implementation/deployment,
Facilitating user understanding of and compliance with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards and enhance process owners' understanding of new and current technology,
Working through new processes and requirements related to Information Technology (IT) systems within HCT,
Coordinating and facilitating communication between IT contractors and system owners to accurately and clearly assess user requirements, to ensure that they are considered and met by proposed projects/software,
Coordinating application of technology and information systems, and educate IT and contractor personnel concerning user's business needs.
Assisting system owners and users better understand IT issues and requirements.
In this role, you will also serve as the Information Security System Officer (ISSO) for HCT systems. As the ISSO, you will be the liaison between assigned users and Information Technology (IT) representatives, and will also have responsibilities for:
Developing and maintaining the communication link between internal users and IT professionals,
Coordinating and ensuring that system applications meet integrated user needs, while also working with other groups within IT that maintain agency-wide integration requirements,
Addressing operational and network interfaces for new and current technology (i.e., systems, database, network and communications) QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Developing requirements and specifications for IT systems that meet business requirements;
Project management and project leadership which required coordination and integration of efforts with key organizational elements including other federal agencies and the stakeholder community;
Demonstrating knowledge of agency programs, policies and procedures, and all aspects of one or more core functions; demonstrated knowledge of Information Technology (IT) functions and computer equipment utilization, including agency IT programs, and Systems Development Life Cycle standards.
EDUCATION: There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a probationary period of 1 year.
