This job reports to the Plant Manager and/or Maintenance Team Coordinator . This is a Full-Time position , working 2nd Shift,must be flexible to the needs of production. . Overview Roll Forming Corporation, located in Shelbyville, Kentucky, between Louisville and Frankfort, is a subsidiary of voestalpine, Austria’s largest basic steel producer. Since 1947, RFC has manufactured products for a diverse customer base consisting of aerospace, automotive, office systems, heavy gage metal fabricated components, and other custom roll-formed shapes. The company manufactures parts by rollforming coil metals and a variety of secondary operations, including punching, welding, bending, cutting, and assembly. Job Skills/Requirements We are currently seeking a maintenance mechanic who has mechanical and some electrical training and experience in a job shop manufacturing setting. Under minimum supervision, this person will repair and maintain buildings, machinery, and mechanical equipment. This person will work independantly and be on 2nd shift, so candidates must have experience and ability to work independently and manage more than one project at a time. Under minimum supervision, this person will repair and maintain buildings, machinery, and mechanical equipment. This person will work independantly and be on 2nd shift, so candidates must have experience and ability to work independently and manage more than one project at a time. Preferred candidates will have: - 3-5 years maintenance experience in a job shop manufacturing setting - Minimum of HS Diploma or GED. Candidates with additional technical training are preferred. - Knowledge of and ability to use computer software to track maintenance projects and progress - Experience performing all or most of the job duties listed below: - Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance by starting devices to test their performance, observing mechanical devices in operation and listening to their sounds to locate causes of trouble, dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, repairing and replacing defective parts and may install special functional and structural parts. - Lubricates and cleans parts and equipment and repairs and maintains equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturers specifications using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments. - Examines form and texture to parts to detect imperfections, inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. - May set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. - Applies electrical knowledge to test electrical equipment and controls and circuitry to determine causes for malfunction and assembles and tests motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principals. - Completes training on new and existing equipment and uses applicable reference material and at the direction of the supervisor may be required to use specialized reference material. - May initiate purchase requisitions to order parts for equipment and machines. - Uses safe working practices and performs work as efficiently as possible while performing work to high quality standards. - Complies with all quality and ISO standards and follows good housekeeping practices and documents work. - May specialize in one or more of the following areas, but would not be required to have specialized knowledge in all areas: mechanical, electrical, electronics, HVAC and hydraulics.
