Director of Campaign and Community Impact

OBJECTIVE: Provide professional leadership and coordination for United Way campaign and Community Impact work. The Director will focus on enhancing donor relationships and expanding the donor base to grown the annual campaign. This position is also responsible for the planning, development, coordination and implementation of strategies to achieve the goals for Collective Community Impact work in Hall, Hamilton, Howard and Merrick Counties. Responsibilities

CAMPAIGN Specific Duties: Grow donor and dollar base • Identify target businesses and recruit as new campaign accounts. • Present United Way information at new hire orientations for area businesses. • Recruit, train, motivate and appreciate volunteers • Annually conduct CEO calls • Assist with all campaign and fundraising events. Enhance donor relations • Send appropriate correspondence to people/businesses/organizations recognized in the newspaper. • Collect and track donor information (email addresses, years of giving, interests) • Coordinate thank you correspondence for campaign, events volunteers, donors and in-kind contributions Grow workplace campaigns • Develop campaign coordinator materials and notebooks for Division Leaders and volunteers. • Share inspiring, creative and fun ideas for successful workplace campaigns with campaign coordinators • Supervise the Loaned Executive(s) and coordinate their work activities and responsibilities. Effectively tell the UW story (mission, purpose, programs, goals and results) • Direct the production of annual campaign videos and PSA for radio and TV. • Coordinate and conduct campaign presentations with Loaned Executive’s direct assistance. • Provide team support for all areas of the campaign including professionally representing the United Way at campaign presentations and events.

COMMUNITY IMPACT Assess Area Community Needs: • Review current assessments and compile community data • Conduct community conversations • Identify community issues and unmet needs in the focus areas of Education, Income and Health • Work with community partners (traditional and nontraditional).

Coordinate Community Meetings • Prepare communication pieces for area community meetings. • Identify community impact council members • Organize and facilitate community meetings • Provide follow-up work and communication for identified objectives between meetings Community Planning • Facilitate planning meetings in Hall, Hamilton, Howard and Merrick Counties • Compile community impact strategies and priorities with goals, targets, measurements and priorities identified • Develop community impact plan for each impact area to achieve targeted community goals • Represent UW at local meetings to be informed of community programs/projects. Resource Development & Distribution • Identify allocation budgets for each Community Impact Council • Assist with community impact grant application process o educating community partners o assistance with online application o community level change data collection • Assist with the grant review process • Pursue additional resources and partners to achieve community impact goals Evaluation & Reporting • Establish reporting process to ensure timely program accountability • Review Progress Reports (reporting procedures, data tracking) • Collect, compile and report data for the community impact projects.

CAMPAIGN SOFTWARE Specific Duties: 1. Assist with managing data collection, utilization and updating information. 2. Utilize Donation Tracker to create contact lists for Campaign Division Leaders. 3. Analyze donor trends by using churn reports ADMINISTRATION 1. Maintain general (daily) office procedures including: answering the telephone, maintaining organized office environment, preparing correspondence, assisting with mailings and maintaining files. OTHER Specific Duties: 1. Work as a team member to fulfill responsibilities of HUW. 2. To perform all other duties as assigned by the President.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree preferred. Associates Degree with equivalent experience may be considered.

Experience Requirements: Two years relevant experience preferred. Experience with computers (data organization & maintenance), public speaking, coordinating events, marketing, facilitation of meetings, fundraising and event coordination.
