The Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and Loyola University Health System Department of Radiology announces a national search for a Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs. This is a unique opportunity to join and help lead an innovative, collegial and expanding Department that consists of 40 faculty, 27 residents in two programs, and several fellowship programs. The Department performs approximately 350,000 exams per year at three hospitals including the Loyola University Medical Center and at 14 outpatient facilities throughout the region.

The Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs will work closely with the Chair as well as section chiefs and staff regarding day-to-day oversight of clinical operations, quality improvement and service initiatives, new business development and integration of new clinical sites, and optimization of financial and informatics strategies.

This individual will be integrally involved in a number of relevant departmental initiatives that include development of an imaging clinical service line, creation of a new hospital radiology department, establishment and implementation of new clinical services, and programmatic initiatives focused on optimizing imaging access, patient experience, value, and quality. Significant opportunities exist for mining large clinical databases for enhancing imaging practice patterns, quality, and outcomes as well as imaging health services research projects.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrative track record of accomplishment and national recognition, and will be eligible for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level. He or she will have clinical and academic focus in a given radiology subspecialty and a data-driven approach and commitment to innovation. A masters degree in business or health care management is preferred though not required.
