Special Procedure Technologist is a professional that directly performs or assists with diagnostic and interventional, routine, operative and angiographic procedures. The Special Procedures Technologist must possess a good working knowledge of the diagnostic process. The Special Procedures technologist must demonstrate clinical competency in those areas of the department they are assigned to work. The Special Procedures Technologist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on his/her assigned unit as indicated below. The Special Procedures Technologist must promote good public relations for the department and the hospitla while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality. The Special Procedures Technologist applies and implements the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the hospital.
Certificate and/or Associate Degree
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in both radiography and vascular interventional radiography preferred.
Minimum of two years as a Radiologic Technologists preferred
