The Manufacturing Automation and Robotics Engineer will demonstrate leadership in communicating and executing business automation goals, programs, and processes for an area. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to develop and execute projects for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals.
In addition, you will:
Develop and maintain automated and robotic manufacturing methods and processes
Design and build / procure necessary tooling and finishing within budgets
Support equipment upgrades from purchase through installation
Support Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) projects in cell
Drive Process Improvement / Cycle Reduction initiatives and drive productivity improvements via automation and robotic process changes or improvements
Ensure processes contribute to a safe work environment
Identify and reduce sources of labor efficiency variations
Lead high impact process and quality improvement automation and robotic projects yielding significant reduction in defects and increased productivity in the Cell
Attend weekly cross-functional quality sessions and track / drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for Cell issues
Utilize lean-manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs and increase capacity
Provide daily work instruction and determine priorities for hourly technicians
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a High School Diploma / GED and a minimum of 4 additional years of manufacturing or operations experience)
Minimum of 1 additional year of experience in manufacturing or operations, including automation / robotic application experience

Strong automated and/or robotic manufacturing process knowledge
Robot programming and simulation experience with Fanuc and/or Staubli equipment
Robotic systems, automation, and safety design experience
Robot end of arm tool design and application experience
HMI development, PLC ladder and programming experience (GE PLC)
Knowledge and experience with National Electrical Code
Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
Strong mechanical design ability
Prior manufacturing process improvement accomplishments
Ability to manage priorities and achieve results
Strong Project Management skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Six Sigma training (GE Employees only)

The GE Aviation plant in Hooksett, New Hampshire, is a state-of-the-art facility that uses the latest technology to manufacture components primarily for military and commercial aircraft engines. Vane sectors, tube assemblies and blisks manufactured in Hooksett are assembled into engines at GE Aviation facilities in Lynn, Massachusetts, and Evendale, Ohio. This facility is located on 16.6 acres in Hooksett, New Hampshire, located between Manchester, the largest city in the state, and Concord, the state capitol.
