SAIC has an opening for an AEGIS Weapon Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) for their client location in Norfolk, VA.
The AEGIS Weapon Systems SME candidate will provide overall technical supports for the AEGIS (SPY) Radar and a range of afloat C4I combat systems (e.g., AN/USQ-125 Link 11, VLS/Strike Warfare systems). He/she will be responsible for performing customer support activities involving the installation, modification and repair of complex equipment and systems, conducting shipboard installation and testing of equipment to ensure proper working order, and isolating equipment start-up malfunctions and taking corrective action. Support will also include providing equipment/systems enhancement recommendations to government and active duty shipboard personnel; training in equipment operation, testing, and maintenance responsibilities; and interacting with customers, peer group SMEs and managers, and senior management. Other duties include ensuring project schedules and performance requirements are met; and preparing briefs, technical analyses and documentation, and training materials.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 5+ years of related systems analysis, maintenance, instructional, and supervisory experience is required. A valid High School diploma or GED with formal military service training and seven to nine years of related systems analysis, maintenance, and training experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement.
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or facilities.
- Previous experience as a Fire Controlman (Surface Warfare) in all aspects of the combat operation and maintenance of the Aegis Weapon System specializing in the AN-SPY-1 B, B(V), D, D(V) Radar on an Aegis Class Destroyer, Participation in exercises and overseas deployments, with in-depth experience troubleshooting and executing critical causality repairs. Experience with associated test equipment to include Radio Frequency (RF) Generators, Multi-Meters, Oscilloscopes, etc. is also required.
- Previous military experience as a U.S. Navy Instructor and/or Master Training Specialist (MTS), service in combat deployment watch stations to include the Combat System Controller (CSC) and the Combat Systems Officer of the Watch (CSOOW), and advance electronic training and repair skills on a wide variety of electronic and waveform generation equipment is highly preferred.
