This position will be with

, the organization which oversees asset management for many of Transamerica's insurance and operating companies as well as third party clients. The global AEGON Asset Management organization has operations in Europe, the United States and Asia. Primary offices in the United States are located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Baltimore, Maryland. AEGON Asset Management and Transamerica are both part of the AEGON NV group of companies. The legal entities that comprise AEGON Asset Management US are AEGON USA Realty Advisors, LLC and AEGON USA Investment Management, LLC. AEGON USA Realty Advisors, LLC manages commercial real estate, commercial mortgage loans and other real estate related investments. AEGONUSA Investment Management, LLC, is a registered investment adviser that manages fixed income assets, including public bonds, private placements, derivatives and alternative investments.
The Global Derivatives & Hedging group of AEGON Asset Management is located in Baltimore MD. The GD&H group is responsible for the execution of all the derivatives trades and hedge performance for the business units of AEGON USA, along with certain international business units within AEGON. The Systems Department of AEGON Asset Management has an opening for a Senior Programmer Analyst to support this business unit.
This is a great opportunity for the right individual to join and contribute to a variety of development and support initiatives. A Senior Programmer Analyst on our team will be expected to:
Design, code, test, implement, and support new and existing in-house developed applications, interfaces, reports, as well as third party applications.
Contribute to the review and analysis of business requirements and technical design specifications for complex projects.
Review design and development work of others to provide feedback for improvement and adherence to standards.
Assists in creation and execution of test plans for integration and system tests.
Models business processes and data.
Work independently and as part of a team.
Plan and set direction on small to large sized projects by coordinating with co-workers, clients, operations, and technical support.
Support other analysts by performing functions, such as coding, testing, job processing, documentation, and scheduling.
Manage multiple activities at the same time.
Performs training/mentoring services.
Champions standards, SOX, and best practices.
Demonstrates advanced understanding of software development and research tools.
Minimum 5 - 8 years work experience in this field.
Bachelors Degree in MIS / Computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience, with a Master Degree being a plus.
Proven competence in analysis, design, development, and testing OOP solutions.
Oracle and/or MS SQL (specifically SSMS, SSIS and SSRS)
Java or .NET (C# & ASP).

Financial Application Support and Development
Knowledge of the following is a plus:
Murex Application experience, more specifically (Datamart reporting, MDCS, MxML, Workflow)
Capital Markets and/or Financial Derivatives Instruments experience/knowledge, more specifically in equity derivatives (Futures, Options, Total Return Swaps, Variance Swaps, etc)
Numerix Application experience
Advanced Analytical and Mathematical Modeling Skills
Knowledge of C++
Knowledge of VBA
Experience in MVC
Experience in WPF
One or more software development lifecycle practices
Any previous ETL mapping would be beneficial
