Reports to the Assistant Dean. Provides academic advising and student services support to the participants in undergraduate programs at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. Interfaces with university admissions, colleges and campus recruiting offices to ensure proper review of credentials, transcripts, documents and that candidates become declared students within our undergraduate program. Maintains data, records, files and forms on current students in the program and information for potential students including but not limited to admission systems, major/minor/certificate information sheets, degree navigator system, registration issues, listserv, updating alumni database, and exit surveys. Monitors students through the program life cycle and identifies new potential students by tracking their interest and progress before admission. Counsels students on academic needs to ensure consistency regarding course selection and sequencing, registration, appropriate transfer of inter-university credits and credentials, enrollment management and advising on professions tied to the major/minor. Advises students on life issues and connects them to appropriate offices within the university. Advises and coordinates programs provided to students from two school initiated international exchange programs. Attends informational and organizational fairs at the university. Coordinates materials both paper and electronic for distribution to recruit students from inside and outside the university. Proactively reaches out to students interested in the field and those taking introductory courses in the program. Meets with students in program classes and in person to discuss major/minor and certificate options. Develops relationships with student organizations on campus and actively visits campus sites that may provide avenues into recruiting students. Coordinates events including orientation, graduation, open house, annual graduate fair recruitment night, special professional development panel seminars for undergraduates, directing students to university career services for resume/cover letter support and posting of career opportunities for students. Writes text and assists with the printing of templates for certificates, awards, programs and event pieces. Coordinates annual university-wide fellowship selection processes. Provides coordination support to undergraduate student organizations. Fosters relationships between students, major/minor and certificates, professional and service oriented activities. Performs various general office responsibilities for the academic program and student services office as assigned.

Job Requirements
Requires a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience and two years of related experience preferably in student services/academic advising in higher education. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Must have advanced knowledge of word processing, database software, Microsoft Access and Excel, Internet and Email. Experience with Dreamweaver and web editing tools preferred. Understanding of an academic environment is essential. Knowledge of the fields of planning, public policy and public health are preferred. Experience in student academic advisement, potential student recruitment, and in an undergraduate student environment is preferred.
