Duties and Responsibilities: The Office of Knowledge Enterprise
Development is seeking an Assistant Director of Research Integrity
and Assurance who works closely with the unit Director, Office of
Research Integrity and Assurance (ORIA) and other appropriate
University personnel to develop and implement the unit's goals and
objectives related to Export Control Regulations, acts as the
Assistant Facility Security Officer (FSO) and manages the facility
security operations for National Industrial Security Program (NISP)
Compliant Security Program. Requires the ability to obtain and
maintain an OPM security clearance to the Top Secret Level or DOEQ
Level, in support of the overall ORIA organization as well as other
areas of focus as assigned.

Acts as primary point of contact and steward to resolve problems
and issues related to Export Control Regulations that affect
research compliance at all levels within the University. Recommends
measures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of outreach
services related to areas of responsibility to ensure compliance
with all applicable regulations, laws and guidelines.

Serves as primary liaison/spokesperson between unit and ORSPA for
issues related areas of responsibility to ensure timely and
thorough communication of activities, requests, policies and
practices in support of and oversight of research compliance
functions related to sponsor projects; may be assigned to special
projects as needed.

The FSO will provide expertise, guidance and advice to the unit as
required, concerning all security administrative functions in
support of a NISP complaint Security Department. Functions include
the processing and supervision of application for personnel
security clearances via the e-Quip system, record maintenance,
understanding of the intelligence community and access requests,
administering security awareness training programs and preparing
visit requests by sponsors and others.

Works closely with ORIA staff members to ensure consistency in
operational and administrative activities that intersect with
research compliance oversight to provide customer service support
to the University Research Community.

DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM

Rate of Pay: $70,000-$80,000 per year; DOE

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business
Administration, Public Administration, or related field AND six
years administrative experience in a field appropriate to the
area/unit of assignment, which includes three years of supervisory
experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or
education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities
have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications: Experience in: the functions related to
Research Compliance Oversight, Export Controls and Facility
Security Operations, and related support and audit services;
regulations, standards and requirements associated with grant and
contract research administration and compliance oversight; ASU
financial and research management tools; project or fiscal
budgeting; analyzing and problem solving; management and
interpersonal relations as reflected by prior management
responsibility; create and manage teams responsible for varying
duties; working effectively in a matrix/complex organizational
relationship requiring strong influencing and negotiating skills;
identify trends and develop/implement effective solutions; working
effectively in an environment subject to quickly changing
priorities and deadlines.

Demonstrated knowledge of: current policies and directives that
influence research integrity and assurance functions; principles,
practices and methods of management and supervision of staff;
computer applications (such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office
Suite) and operational knowledge of information dissemination
technology related to sponsored projects management.
