The Production Quality Engineer III will provide quality engineering support to assigned production projects/programs. Position reports to the Quality Manager.


• Provide quality engineering support to assigned production projects/programs
• Work with customers, PMO, engineering, operations, etc. to prevent escapes, reduce defects, analyze data, lead process improvement initiatives and source inspect parts
• Interface with customers to resolve quality and manufacturing issues, as well as with development engineering to provide quality support for development programs
• Perform root cause analysis and mistake proofing tools to drive down escapes
• Plan, arrange and implement quality activities to minimize non-conformances; includes working with engineers during project development to determine specifications and acceptance criteria, working with suppliers and vendors to establish quality plans to assure acceptable product, and directing quality improvement teams to attack problem areas such as high levels of scrap, rework or waste
• Measure tools such calipers, micrometers, height/depth gages, dial indicators, etc
• May lead/direct the work of others
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technically related field
• Minimum of 6 years related technical quality assurance experience
• Knowledge or certified IPC 620 and J-STD
• Ability to read and understand drawings
• Self-starter with ability to handle multiple tasks & set priorities in fast-paced environment to achieve goals
• Knowledge of Inspections and Quality Control methods
• Ability to interface with asseblers & technicians to implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues
• Proficient in quality analysis tools such as 5Whys, SPC, PFMEA
• Strong problem solving skills with ability to teach basic problem solving techniques and facilitate problem solving team events

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified ISO/AS9100 Auditor
