I. BASIC JOB SUMMARY:
Provide management and guidance of field business opportunities as they pertain to potential new bases of operations or joint ventures. Responsible for directing Medical Strike Team, Field Business Development Managers, Field Operations Specialists and Cardiac Care Specialists. Works in collaboration with the Director of Patient Care Services, Regional Directors of Base Operations and Regional Directors of Flight Operations.
A. Training and Education:
i. BS in Business, Management, Marketing, Healthcare or related field or a combination of education and experience.
ii. Management and sales training courses/experience preferred
iii. Computer skills – MS Office to include word processing, database & spreadsheet applications
i. Five years of planning, marketing or development experience preferred
ii. Minimum of five years air medical experience in progressive management roles
iii. Requires an in-depth understanding of services and operations within the air medical industry and healthcare industry
iv. Strong analytical, problem solving, change management and communication skills required

A. Communicates and collaborates with Vice President of Operations, Sr. Director of Base Operations and Regional Directors of Base Operations to coordinate activities of operation personnel, business development opportunities and internal asset relocations.
B. Provide management and guidance of field business opportunities as they pertain to new bases of operations or joint ventures.
i. Assists with search and background evaluations for potential management and staff positions at new bases of operations.
ii. Assists with supervision and leadership during initial start up of new bases.
iii. Assists Program Director with developing goals and a marketing plan for new areas.
iv. Acts as a liaison with other health care providers.
v. Collaborates with Central Communications, Aviation Division, Public Relations Department, Membership Department, Operations Division, etc. regarding policies and procedures, equipment, and promotion of Air Evac Lifeteam awareness and services during initial start-up of new bases.
vi. Interfaces with hospital management on operational start-up objectives.
vii. Collaborates problem solving and follow-up on operational objectives with appropriate personnel.
C. Responsible for Directing the Medical Strike Team, Field Business Development Managers, Field Operations Specialists and Cardiac Care Specialists.
i. Assists with preparation of annual budget.
ii. Accounts for cost overruns and maintains bottom line within the budget framework.
iii. Approves expenditures within established limits, and delegates approval and clear limits to direct reports when appropriate in conformance with the company policy.
iv. Coordinates activities with the Medical Director and the Director of Patient Care Services regarding medical personnel, policies and procedures and department goals.
v. Completes performance appraisals on an annual basis in a timely manner.
vi. Assists with and provides leadership guidance for special projects assigned to the Medical Strike Team, Field Business Development Managers, Field Operations Specialist and/ or Cardiac Care Specialists.
vii. Participates in regularly scheduled communications with direct reports.
D. Participates in the Development Planning process in conjunction with senior management
i. Serves as a liaison between Operations and Development.
ii. Assist with initiation of business plans of approved new sites
iii. Participates in preparation of annual business and marketing plan.
iv. Participates in strategic planning for the Company.
v. Analyze, interpret and validate data on new locations, through site visits and industry, competitive intelligence.
E. Provides leadership guidance for existing or new management at the base level as needed in collaboration with Operations Management.
F. Maintains thorough knowledge of departmental and other regulatory policies and procedures.
i. Attends classes, training, and meetings as necessary to maintain knowledge of advances in safety, communications, regulations, marketing, management and equipment development.
G. Participates in the Company’s response to and mitigation of any significant negative event in a manner that reduces negative public exposure, reduces civil and criminal legal exposure including providing care and support to staff members and their families directly or indirectly affected ensuring a well understood plan is in place and serves as a company spokesperson.
H. Other activities as assigned.
