We are currently looking for an Engineer IV in the Tooling group. The primary function of this role will be to support multiple toolsets across network services to include:
Site Scope, SCOM, BladeLogicSCCM,. Additional responsibilities will include the following:
--participate in complex technical assistance and resolutions for various network problems;
--participate in recommending complex upgrades and/or improvements;
--support the day-to-day operations of the monitoring tool sets both current and future;
--serve as a liaison to define complex business problems with existing networks or to initiate designs of new networks;
--participate in the complex analyzes and writes network specifications;
--participates in installing, maintaining, and monitoring complex operation of organizations network system, and
--interact regularly with rightshore agents
--adhere to established methodologies including SIPOC, ITIL, and PMI.
--provide training on new toolsets
The following skills are required for this position.
Unix/Linux - bash, ksh, ssh, vi, ntp, Linux(esp. Debian, RHEL), Solaris, HP-UX, AIX
WinTel - basic admin skills, use of command prompt, notepad, networking commands, rdp
Network – able to identify networking issues and work with networking and O/S teams to resolve connectivity issues.
Database – postgresql (other SQL experience, MySQL, Oracle, Ingres accepted). MS SqlServer is NOT required or equivalent
Programming – Unix shell scripts, Windows command, Remote scripting(unix and windows)
Troubleshooting – works well in a challenging environment, works independently but asks for assistance when needed.
Documentation – good communication skills, use of Wiki to document processes
On call – Expected to be in the on call rotation with the other members of the group (about 1 week a month)
