Supervises the clinical staff in all departments ensuring appropriate hours of operation to meet patient needs; employment of credentialed personnel; accreditation of department by appropriate governing entity (e.g., CLIA, OSHA, etc.) and budgeted financial results are achieved. Oversees staffing and scheduling of all clinical staff. Coordinates all clinical support personnel at the Aurora Health Center to meet the needs of clinical providers and patients. Maximizes the effectiveness of staffing through personnel management.
Creates new staffing initiatives such as staff education, drug samples, callbacks, prescription refills, etc. Responsible for clinical staff training/development and continuous quality improvement efforts. Coordinates the education of clinical staff and is responsible for maintaining standards of staff competency regarding clinical performances, safety, OSHA, and all other regulatory bodies. Serves as a clinical resource to staff.
Leads and directs clinical staff meetings. Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with group physicians. Staff/community education activities may include: Monitoring competency of clinical staff Coordinating and conducting orientation for clinical staff Mentoring and acting as a resource to develop the clinical staff Assessing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating programs for staff development Providing education to patients/significant others Presenting health education programs Promoting health care and social service resources according to patient’s/families’ wishes, needs and financial capabilities Assures the compliance with OSHA regulations. Coordinates training for clinical staff regarding OSHA regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned or as necessity dictates. May perform duties of the clinical nursing staff on an as needed basis. The incumbent is responsible for adhering to established Service Standards. General Qualifications Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) granted by the State of Wisconsin.
Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience. Three (3) years of supervisory experience in the medical field is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Commitment to high quality patient care.
Exceptional team management/leadership skills. Fosters high initiative to ensure creativity of self and staff in meeting clinic needs. Intermediate computer skills (including Windows).
