Division Head, Neuroradiology

The Department of Radiology and Radiological Science at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), located in historic Charleston SC, is seeking an American Board of Radiology subspecialty certified, fellowship-trained, neuroradiologist with expertise in all aspects of neuroradiology to serve as Division Head of Neuroradiology. The Department currently performs more than 31,000 (14,000 MR & 17,000 CT) neuroimaging procedures annually and there are currently 7 neuroradiologists & 3 Fellows in the division. State-of-the-art equipment includes a Siemens Skyra 3.0T scanner and 2 Siemens Avanto 1.5T scanners, a Philips Intera 1.5T system, a Siemens Verio 3.0T large-bore system. MDCT units include a cutting edge Siemens Definition Flash.

MUSC consists of several closely related clinical service organizations. These include the University Hospital, the Ashley River Tower, the Institute of Psychiatry, MUSC Children's Hospital, and Storm Eye Institute. Clinical and research expertise includes a state wide stroke program supported by a strong neuro-interventional service and the Medical University Of South Carolina Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, recognized as a Level 4 center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. MUSC fosters a collaborative clinical scientific environment supporting its faculty in many ways including state-of-the-art clinical and research facilities. The Center for Biomedical Imaging at MUSC is a University Designated Center with faculty, staff, students and trainees located in approximately 12,000-ft2 of space in MUSC’s new Bioengineering Building (inaugurated in 2011) and operates a Siemens 3T TIM Trio scanner dedicated to research.
