The Security Officer's duties will include but not limited to: documentation of events and occurrences, patrolling interior and exterior of hospital documentation and investigation of incidents on hospital grounds, securing of patients valuables, monitoring and responding to the ER, interim life safety patrols, fire extinguisher and hose inspections, responding to missing patients, responding to all emergencies such as fire, medical and disasters, participate in emergency drills, parking enforcement and traffic patrol, parking registration, identifying persons loitering in a suspicious manner, preventing vandalism or malicious damage to hospital property, jump start motor vehicles, monitoring and distribution of keys, making arrests within the authority defined by the law and enforcing rules and regulations of the hospital according to the Rush Oak Park Hospital Policy and Procedure.
Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED plus a valid State of Illinois Driver's license. Must also have a State of Illinois 20 hour Security License with 1 to 3 years of experience. Must have previous security experience, preferably 6 months of hospital security experience.
2 Part-Time positions are available:
1 Part-time position for the day shift: Days required to work are every weekend, Saturday and Sunday.
1 Part-time position for the evening shift: Days required to work are every weekend, Friday and Saturday, 11pm to 8am.
