Leads the Cascade Disability Management subsidiary with full responsibility for financial and operational results as well as product development, sales and placement. Responsible for developing, measuring, and balancing short-term priorities with long-term strategic business plans. Plans, organizes and directs with the accountability for attaining metrics around quality, productivity, compliance and other operational objectives to meet Commercial Insurance business goals. Actively partners and fosters a strong working relationship with other Commercial Insurance management.
      Responsibilities:
      • Creates the vision and strategy for the group. Identifies and evaluates internal and external issues of strategic importance. Aligns strategies, tactics and resources so as to best support the profitable growth of Commercial Insurance.
      • Oversees development and implementation of Cascade products and promotes effective use of services to Commercial Insurance Claims. Strategic planning for the generation of Cascade service revenues through Commercial Insurance channels.
      • Builds and sustains culture around change, continuous improvement and innovation that constantly and critically looks at ways to deliver better results and improve competitive positioning.
      • Works with Commercial Insurance Claims Analytics unit to continually maximize Cascade's services to achieve best in class results. Effectively uses data/analytics to assess and benchmark organizational performance and responds timely and appropriately to areas warranting improvement.
      • Plans, organizes and directs Cascade staff to provide: quality, timely and cost-effective vocational rehabilitation services aimed at containing claims costs and returning injured workers to work.
      • Effectively markets Cascade‚Äôs services and products to both internal and external stakeholders/businesses, which results in both internal and external business acquisition and increased use of services.
      • Ensure appropriate compliance with all legislation, corporate policies, and programs. Develop, review, approve and implement new and revised policies and procedures.
      • Manages the organization in a cost competitive manner. Makes sound short-term and long-term decisions regarding, staffing, technology, outsourcing and investments. Understands the need to shift expense dynamics to match changing business needs/factors.
      • Creates a positive and highly productive environment that supports the recruitment, selection, training and ongoing development of the management team and staff. Manages performance of staff including: establishment of objectives and coaching. With management team: identifies promotional opportunities for staff, performance issues, or disciplinary actions and takes appropriate action.
