OVERVIEW

The Business Development Associate will work with Silverchairs product and customer teams to increase revenue from Silverchairs existing customer base.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

Reporting to the head of business development, the associate will

Read, analyze, and coordinate tasks to fulfill existing customer requests, including:

Follow-up with customers, as needed, to clarify/define requests

Translate requests to requirements which others can then use for estimation and execution of the projects

Establish processes for request/revenue tracking, including for analysis of results vs. plan and forecasting

Document and maintain related processes and procedures, including training of internal personnel and ensuring needs of other constituents (eg legal and finance) are met

As the central point person for this activity, over time become sufficiently skilled and knowledgeable to determine requirements and prepare estimates with minimal assistance from others

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

College degree

Ability to translate customer requests to enable efficient completion

Ability to collect, analyze and summarize data and to prepare clear and concise reports

Intermediate proficiency in MS Office product software

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, capable of performing v-lookups and pivot tables

Familiarity with customer relationship management systems (eg, experience with Salesforce.com)

Organizational effectiveness skills

Proven, sustained record of producing high quality work

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and remain cognizant of deadlines and schedules

Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

Prior work in sales or marketing not required but could be beneficial

Certification in Project Management a plus

Experience working in a SaaS environment a plus

Knowledge of STM publishing market a plus
