TITLE: Senior Static Loads Engineer PRIMARY FUNCTION: Perform aircraft loads analysis and act as focal point in determining the external loads acting on aircraft structures during flight maneuvers, landing conditions, and ground-handling conditions. Develop external loads due to flight and ground environments using in house programs, FORTRAN, MATLAB, C++ and/or MATHCAD codes on UNIX workstations and PCs. Generate certification loads documents using Microsoft Office tools. RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate with other internal engineering groups to obtain relevant input data for use in loads analysis Contribute to new loads methods development strategies Act as a mentor for other less experienced static loads engineers Clearly understand and relate 14 CFR Part 23 and Part 25 regulations to loads analysis Perform aircraft flight and ground simulations Perform load distributions on various aircraft components (wing, fuselage, empennage, engine mounts, etc…) Document loads results in memos and certification documents for transmittal to internal customers and certification authorities QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering, preference for Master of Science Degree in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering. 8+ years of experience in relevant aircraft analysis including experience with aerodynamic data reduction, wind tunnel testing, flight mechanics, and stability & control. Experience with FORTRAN programming, MATLAB and/or MATHCAD is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word, or similar products, is expected.
