We are seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join Litle & Co.’s IT team. A successful team member is service oriented with a strong understanding of a broad range of server and storage systems and is able to work in a casual, fluid work environment.
As a member of the Systems and Storage Services team, you will work as part of an agile team, supporting a rapidly changing application with true 99.999% availability and massive transactional scalability. Systems availability, security and the ability to run agile are cornerstones of our work ethic at Litle. -Work to support, grow, and improve our environment as a member of the Systems and Storage team and the larger IT group
-Install, configure, and maintain Litle’s core technologies, including Linux servers and desktops, virtual machines, and storage systems
-Work as part of an agile team with the ability to refocus efforts on a different project or technology with each sprint
-Bring an engineering mind-set for revision control, deployment, and testing to your work as a systems engineer.
-Work closely with other groups in cross-functional project and troubleshooting teams
-Support end users in set-up or workstation related issues and problems
-Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation in support of our environment
-Must have at least 3 years of experience administering Linux systems in a production capacity
-Scripting skills with an administrative language
-Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking
-Working knowledge of backup software, backup and recovery strategies and best practices
-Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Proven ability to work in a team environment
-Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks within a dynamic environment
-Continued awareness of developing and emerging technologies with a willingness and ability to learn new technologies
-BS in IT or Computer Science preferred
-RedHat RHCE certification preferred
-Experience in a DevOps discipline a major plus
-Experience working with and supporting agile development teams.
-Experience with Python, Ruby, bash
-Experience with configuration management tools, such as Puppet
-Proven experience managing and maintaining virtualized environments
-Previous usage of monitoring and trending systems preferred
-SAN experience preferred
-Experience with firewall systems, network and server security a plus
-Experience supporting RDBMS software a plus
