NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED : This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Commissioned Officer (01/2LT - 02/1LT), Warrant Officer (WO1/W1 - CW4/W4) and Enlisted Personnel (E7/SFC- E9/SGM) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program.
MILITARY CRITERIA: Applicant must be qualified and eligible for award of an MOS as follows: O: BR: 90A, 91A; WOBR: 91;
E: CMF: 91
MILITARY ASSIGNMENT : Applicant selected for this military technician position must occupy a military assignment in the Virginia Army National Guard that ensures proper grade, unit, and MOS prior to placement.

Must meet the education/specialized experience--See Qualifications Section DUTIES:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establishes deadlines,priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor. Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Determine straining needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment. Performs the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed. Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, and mobilization and command support exercises.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed forspecific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan,direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
