As an essential member of the Ecommerce marketing team, this management position is the primary owner of planning, development and execution of critical ecommerce marketing programs for Staples Business Delivery – primarily Affiliate Marketing and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The E-Marketing Manager plans and manages all aspects of key programs, interacting and leveraging both internal and external resources in order to effectively execute marketing programs. The Manager is accountable for meeting revenue and cost targets, providing accurate and timely reporting, and developing and driving strategy for current and future initiatives. In a fast and dynamic environment, this position also takes on special projects aimed at driving incremental sales. Primary responsibilities for overall affiliate management include (1) driving profitable growth in the affiliate channel, (2) managing day to day partner relationships to enhance partner retention and profitability, (3) and developing and refining the overall strategy to build a more profitable affiliate solution Daily affiliate management, including development and deployment of: fresh marketing creative, affiliate communications/newsletters, offers and dispute resolution. Monitor activity, analyze performance, identify areas of opportunity, and recommend ways to increase program performance, including increasing revenue and new customer acquisition while lowering cost per acquisition Manage a third party vendor and affiliate relationships to ensure Staples’ business goals and objectives are met Create, justify, allocate, manage and optimize a marketing budget Recruit new quality affiliates, joint venture partners and strategic partners into the program and evaluate their performance over time Initiate new ideas, incentives or bonus offers. Implement new features and reporting capabilities as needed Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly reports on key customer metrics including ROI, revenue, margin analysis, and new customer metrics Research, analyze and monitor market trends, benchmarks, and competitive environment Manage campaign spend in line with allocated budget to drive maximum ROI Primary responsibilities for overall SEO management include (1) driving improvements in natural search ranking and ultimately conversion on, (2) monitoring phased enhancements through detailed tracking, (3) and driving and refining the overall SEO strategy to maximize exposure and traffic Work with the Copy Writing and merchant team on content development Act as primary liason between IS, Creative, Merchants, and Agency to ensure alignment in SEO activity Coordinate tactics with Staples E-Marketing (SEM) manager to ensure balanced coverage of paid and organic listings Drive Link building opportunties/strategy Drive Keyword research Research, analyze and monitor market trends, benchmarks, and competitive environment Monitor on search engine ranking and report on business metric Keep up to date on the latest SEO/SEM trends and changes Manage and develop other marketing programs as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree required. Business or Marketing preferred minimum 3 years related experience E-Marketing experience required, preferably in the business to business industry with a multi-channel retailer; understanding of online search (paid and natural), e-commerce, affiliate networks and shopping sights as well as standard industry practices Knowledge of SEO/SEM methods, best practices and search engine algorithms
Proactive and self-motivated work style with proven ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities Strong and effective communication (both written & oral), negotiation, and interpersonal skills Highly proficient in Excel/Word/Powerpoint with the ability to analyze data and prepare reports presentation. . Previous experience using web metric programs (Omniture, Core Metrics etc.) Ability to comfortably work with large groups of people at all levels of management
