This position functions as the a key member of the Regional management team providing business and financial perspective. Responsible for all areas of financial management including; strategic planning, measurement, budgeting, analysis and training. Key customers include; Regional General Manager, Region Finance Director, Regional Department Heads and Owner/Operators. In addition to following McDonald's policies and procedures, principal accountabilites include, but are not limited to: Strategic Business Development - Analyzes and consults on the financial impact of key market strategies on long-term income growth. - Participates in the development of long-term market strategic plans. - Influences market management on the prioritization of strategies and tactics to balance the impact on income both short- and long-term. - Understands and interprets business trends (economic, competitive, etc.) Regional Profitability Growth - Coordinates the preparation and presentation of the market annual financial plan. - Interprets trends and forecasts financial results of the market. - Identifies gaps between forecasted results and targets, then makes recommedations to ensure annual market financial goals are achieved. - Consults with market management regarding the impact of business decisions on short-and long-term profitability and makes recommendations that add to shareholder value (Development, Franchising, Marketing, McOpCo, and strategic initiatives.) Franchisee Profitability Growth - Improves Franchisee's financial position by analyzing, monitoring and reporting overall business results. - Participates in the financial planning process with Franchisee's and provides recommendations to meet cash-flow and equity goals. - Consults with Franchisee's on business transactions (new store, rebuilds, relocations, financial assistance, etc.)that will affect their organization. Coaching, Training and Development - Responsible for training and consulting of market staff, Franchisee's and Registered Applicants as it pertains to key financial information, changes in Company Accounting policies and procedures and other pertinent data. - Provides ongoing coaching, training and development of market accounting staff.
Minimum requirement for this position include: -Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA preferred -7-10 years of relevant financial experience -Ability to draw accurate financial analysis/interpretations from large quantities of data and provide recommendations and options for future decisions -Ability to proactively identify and solve problems -Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and oral, in both individual and group settings -Ability to interact directly with various levels of Management -Ability to work with a cross-functional team toward a common set of goals or initiatives -Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to work independently and to multi-task -Excellent negotiation skills, ability to build relationships and resolve conflict both with internal company staff and the operator community -Ability to transfer technical accounting concepts into practical business solutions -Strong computer technical skills, including use of Excel, Power Point, and Word
