Cargill Corn Milling North America is a manufacturer of value-added corn and sugar based products serving the Food, Feed and Fermentation segments. From facilities in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas, we provide a wide variety of products and services including high fructose corn syrup, corn syrups, dextrose syrups and sucrose that are used in an array of beverage, brewing, confectionery, food and pharmaceutical applications. We also produce a variety of innovative, dry corn ingredients that are used in cereals, snacks, breads, tortillas and animal feed applications. At Cargill, we are leaders in whole grain corn, corn bran, masa flour and other innovative dry corn products, technologies and services to food manufacturers — including a full range of dry corn ingredients: flours, grits, whole grain products, meal, bran and more. The Dry Corn Ingredients Quality Management Technician will compile process and shipment data using statistical methods and software tools, for products and calibration of analytical equipment. Responsible for approving all food & feed shipments in a 24/7 shift rotation. Responsible for communication and deployment of quality programs including food safety, employee safety, and sanitation. Responsible for internal food process audits and reporting of analytical information to management and customers. Maintain qualified 3rd party contracted laboratory support including cross-check programs and correlating local analytical programs as outlined in SOP's. Responsibilities include preparation and distribution of customers samples. Preparation of analyticals associated with customer paperwork, databases and reporting data for shipped products. This position is a quality resource for production and is involved in process trouble shooting and investigative techniques relating to nonconformances with manufacturing issues or customer related issues. This position provides analytical support for product research, along with other duties as assigned.
50% - Approving finished product shipments
10% - Analyzing products: granulations, moistures, fats, proteins, ash, mycotoxins
10% - Quality Assurance audits to include food safety systems, calibration of equipment, etc.
10% - Contract laboratory/outside testing (PCR, micro, filth, pesticide residue)
10% - Maintaining databases, producing reports and paperwork
5% - Sample requests and research and development
5% - Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Minimum of 2 year degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or related field OR a minimum of 5 years experience in food, pharma, or related industry as laboratory tech/support.
Knowledge of spreadsheet, database and word processing computer skills
Ability to work a rotating 24/7 shift schedule
4 year degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or related field
Statistical process control knowledge
