The representative rate for this position is $47,012 per annum ($22.53 per hour). Assists with the maintenance and control of the Education Department records and files, and assists with ensuring that all reporting requirements are met. Creates, maintains and files education records for each inmate. Types certificates for program completions, and coordinates/corresponds with previous schools attended by inmates, and with schools and colleges where inmates may be seeking admission upon release. Responsible for the proper care, maintenance, storage and security of all equipment and supplies belonging to the Education Department.

Maintains inventory and submits requisitions for ordering supplies and equipment. Records and maintains budgetary data and financial records, and is able to provide statistical information to supervisors and staff members. Responsible for keying education information in the Education Data System (EDS) based on information provided by professional staff. Incumbent may have responsibility for assisting with the inmate leisure and/or law library services, which includes maintaining books and equipment in a usable and orderly manner; monitoring procurement and receipt of materials for the library, i.e.

law books, research materials, subscriptions to magazines and/or newspapers; ensuring proper check-out and exchange procedures; and may oversee the recruiting and training of inmate library clerks. Keys, submits, and maintains Time and Attendance reports on all employees. Types all departmental correspondence and reports for the Supervisor of Education and/or other staff in the education or recreation departments. Maintains files on the contract employees in the department.
