General Position Summary:

Ensure the timely, accurate and efficient operation of the shipping & receiving functions of the store. Provide floor coverage as needed.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Drive the product flow process in the store by receiving daily shipments and distributing to sales floor as directed.

Prepare, record and distribute all customer shipping orders. Monitor speed and accuracy of deliveries.

Provide customer service and sales support on the sales floor and needed or when requested by management.

Perform all required cash register transactions such as sales and exchanges expeditiously and with a high level of accuracy, while staying within company guidelines.

Utilize sales skills and techniques as well as exceptional customer service to drive store sales. Customers may need assistance both in person and on the phone. Greet and engage customers when on the sales floor.

Provide information to customers on current product features and benefits. Requires maintaining current and accurate knowledge of product features, benefits and availability.

Maintain organization & cleanliness of shipping area.

Maintain a high professional standard in individual behavior, courtesy and respect.

Demonstrate the ability to work in and contribute to a positive team environment.

Assist in other store functions as needed.

Secondary Functions:

Maintain positive open lines of communication with all Columbia Sportswear management, staff and other team members in order to contribute to the smooth flow of information and efficient operation of the store.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Specific Job Skills:

Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English. Basic math ability. Ability to interact with and provide service to customers. Must be able to learn and willing to work within established guidelines.

Physical requirements include the ability to use telephone, computerized cash register; perform repetitive movements of the arms and shoulders, stand for extended periods of time, move freely around store, bend, twist, reach, squat, climb a ladder occasionally and regularly lift/carry up to 40 pounds.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Retail experience and/or experience working in a customer service environment is preferred. Warehouse, logistics or operations experience desired.
